Lavarack Barracks and RAAF Base Townsville generate substantial vehicle movement on the posting cycle, which peaks hard in December and January alongside every other Australian move. If you are posting in or out, book four to six weeks ahead. This is one of the tightest capacity windows on our entire network. The other seasonal factor is cyclones: between November and April, services north of Rockhampton can be delayed or suspended at short notice, and we build buffer into quoted windows accordingly rather than pretending the risk is not there.
