Secure, insured, short-term storage at our depots. Built for the gap between settlement dates, which is the single most common reason people need it.

The settlement gap

Interstate moves rarely line up neatly. You settle on the old place before the new one is ready, or you are in temporary accommodation for a fortnight, or the vehicle arrives before you do. Meanwhile the car has to be somewhere.

We hold it at the destination depot until you are ready. Because it is already in our yard, the movement out to your address afterwards is a short local run rather than a fresh interstate booking.

How it works

A free storage window after arrival, included with every booking
Beyond that, billed by the week, not the month. You do not pay for a full month to cover four extra days
Secured depot with controlled access
Insurance continues while stored
Release to you, or to anyone you nominate in advance with photo ID

Also useful for

Extended trips: a vehicle parked for three months while you are overseas or up north
Auction purchases where the yard’s free storage has expired but you are not ready to take delivery
Dealer overflow when a yard is at capacity
Deceased estates where the vehicle must be moved before the estate is settled
Seasonal vehicles: a van or a boat that only comes out half the year

Tell us early if you will need it. Booked in advance it is straightforward. Sprung on us when the vehicle has already landed and nobody can collect it, it becomes a scramble, and the storage clock is already running.

Preparing a vehicle for longer storage

For anything beyond a few weeks:

Tyres inflated to the upper end of the recommended range, to reduce flat-spotting
Handbrake off and chocked instead, if it is sitting for months: brake shoes seize to drums
Battery disconnected, or a tender arranged with us
Fuel stabiliser for anything over about three months
Everything removed from inside, especially anything organic
